about

Hi, I'm Sarah Imrisek (cymatiste).

I make art in the streets and with the community. My practice is based in Tkaronto/Toronto, Ontario, Canada , but you can also see my murals in Hamilton, Ontario and Chicago, Illinois.

My work combines environmental themes with dreamlike illustrations, looking to the intricacy and interconnectedness of the natural world for inspiration to find pathways to personal and collective healing.

During a difficult time in life, I found solace walking through alleys and photographing street art. Now I find strength and inspiration in giving back to the street art conversation by doing my part to brighten the city and to support other emerging artists.

"cymatiste" is derived from cymatics, the study of sound vibrations on a physical medium. I try to bring the invisible -- energy, spirit, joy -- to light through my art, and to help others discover their own creative talents through workshops and community art activations.
