Marj Delights

Marj Delights Caribbean Goodies sells Sweet bread, Currants roll, Pone and many other goodies at Market 707, a shipping container market next to Alexandra Park in Toronto. They needed a sandwich board chalkboard sign to promote their shop in the square, and had a chunky piece of particle board on hand for the project. I mocked up a design in the style of their existing menu banner, and then sanded, primed and painted the sign you see here. The layers of background paint smoothed over the roughness in the board, with the remaining texture adding to the original style. The sign is now easy for the vendor to update whenever she needs to with the names, prices and laminated photos of her latest specials!
